The Museum of Guttenberg Castle
When entering the imposing castle courtyard, cannon thunder echoes from the historic walls, swords clang and chains rattling. Marker-shattering screams come out of the torture chamber and a pale ghost scurries, creepy rhymes murmur, through the spinning room… “Life at the Knight’s Castle” is the title of the castle museum’s award-winning exhibition, which provides the appropriate answers to exciting questions: How did you become a knight? What weapons did a knight carry? Why were castles built? And how have its inhabitants lived in past centuries? On a journey through time from the Middle Ages to the 19th century, the visitor meets knights, reformers, warlords, passionate hunters… and maybe the ghost of the castle.
